826valenciaVolunteer: Teen Poetry Podcasts @ 826 - SOLD OUT

Register by Sept 15.

Join the co-founder of the non-profits 826 National and 826 Valencia, Nínive Calegari (GSE '95), for a podcasting field trip with students at 826 Valencia's Tenderloin Center! As a field trip volunteer, you will encourage 7th grade students as they create podcasts that will engage and inspire a listening audience, and eventually be featured on 826 Valencia’s SoundCloud page, Message in a Bottle.

In this program, we'll work with students to craft poems about their personal identities. You'll help students create vivid, compelling, and reflective podcasts, and record their pieces with style and confidence. In the morning you will work with students as they brainstorm, write, and revise their poems and in the afternoon you will help prepare students to record their podcasts and explore audio editing and online publishing (no previous audio production experience necessary!).

826 Valencia will be relying on our community members who sign up. Please do not register unless you are reasonably confident you can attend for the duration of the opportunity!
