bicycle.sunday.300x300Crystal Springs Bicycle Sunday Ride (Postponed, TBD)

All ages welcome!

Sunday, June 17th
10:00am - 12:00pm

Crystal Springs Regional Trail
86 Cañada Road, Woodside

Free for Everyone

Sitting juxtaposed to busy Highway 280 on the Peninsula, Crystal Springs Reservoir is a big, glistening, two-lake treasure worthy of more than a drive-by affair. Fed by High Sierra water piped from Yosemite’s Hetch Hetchy, this tranquil oasis is best seen by biking the Crystal Springs Regional Trail, which borders the reservoir for 15 miles. The southern part of the trail (from Highway 92 to Filoli Nature Preserve) runs along Cañada Road, and every Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm the road is closed to cars for Bicycle Sunday—literally paving the way for bicyclist, walkers, and joggers.

While the section is short (5 miles out-and-back), it’s easy to extend the ride by continuing north or south beside the reservoir. Either way, make a stop at the Pulgas Water Temple—a classical Greek structure honoring the achievement of moving water from Yosemite to the Bay Area.

All ages welcome. Bring your own water to the event. Parking is available at both ends of the road. Come enjoy one of the most beautiful areas on the peninsula!

The Harvard Club of San Francisco is concerned about your safety. Please adhere to the rules of the road:

• Wear a helmet and protective clothing
• Follow directions and signs
• Keep to the right
• Pass to the left
• Alert others when passing
• Remain on the roadway
• Groups travel in single file
• Be aware of any vehicle traffic
