About HBX

Harvard Business School has entered the world of online learning with HBX, a unique new course platform that offers rich, interactive learning experiences to help HBS further deliver on its mission to educate leaders. Current programs include HBX Credential of Readiness (CORe), a primer on the fundamentals of business, and Clayton Christensen's Disruptive Strategy course targeted toward business leaders. We are also developing HBX Live, a one-of-a-kind virtual classroom that collapses geography and allows participants worldwide to interact real-time with one another and a faculty member much as they would in the famed HBS case classrooms. Learn about HBS’ strategy for creating a unique learning experience from Executive Director Jana Kierstead.

HBX introduced its first product offering, HBX CORe, in June 2014. This 10-week, online program is designed to teach business fundamentals to undergraduates and recent graduates. Approximately 500 participants enrolled in the first cohort and nearly 85% completed the program. Additional cohorts have been announced for February, April and June 2015.

HBX aims to establish a standard of excellence in online business education by creating a highly engaging and valuable learning experience that enhances Harvard Business School’s mission of educating leaders who make a difference in the world. The department will leverage Harvard Business School’s reputation for excellence within the business community and utilize its vast intellectual property, academic pedagogy, and faculty talent to become the premier provider of high-quality online business education.
