Rodeo Beach
Sausalito, CA

Sunday, August 30, 2015
10 AM - 1 PM

Greet the day and bid adieu to the dog days of August from the shores of Rodeo Beach! Three miles northwest of the Golden Gate Bridge, Rodeo Beach is sheltered by cliffs and bounded by lagoons. http://www.parksconservancy.org/visit/park-sites/rodeo-beach.html

We'll gather for convivial conversation and a potluck brunch. Vegetarian offerings welcomed!

When registering, please add a note with some idea of what you might contribute to the potluck brunch, so that we can sidestep the surfeit of salads.

Bring sunscreen, water, your beach blanket, that high-flying kite, a frisbee (maybe), and binoculars if you want to check out fly-by pelicans. If you intend to hike afterwards, please bring appropriate shoes.

Afterwards, families and those without dogs in tow may consider exploring the shuttle-serviced Marin Mammal Center nearby, http://www.marinemammalcenter.org

San Francisco MUNI Route 76X provides bus service between San Francisco and Rodeo Beach on Sundays.

Carpooling is encouraged. If you are willing to offer a ride from the East Bay or Marin, please also note that in your registration details.

Cell service and Internet access is unreliable in the Marin Headlands. Come prepared to spend a couple hours off the grid.

Registration deadline: Thursday, August 27.

Meeting location and further details will be e-mailed to event registrants on Friday, August 28.
