Let's Go Hiking!

Sweeney Ridge Trail Hike in San Bruno, in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

This is about a 5.8 mile hike path with impressive views of the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay. We'll hike up and back past the Portola “Discovery” Site.
 

This hike is considered moderate. Elevation about 900 feet. Dogs ARE allowed on this hike.  We’ll be walking on both paved road and dirt track, and there’s a bit of mud at one point.  Please note there is limited shade on this hike.  NWS forecast predicts partly sunny.
 

Important: Wear a hat and bring enough water, snacks, and sunscreen for about 3 hours.
 

Street parking is available; trailhead is about a 12-minute Uber ride from San Bruno BART

Time 9:30 am (Clocks fall back that day!)
Meetup location provided to confirmed participants.
HCSF Members only, no guests please (all class of 2021 receive a free membership, but you have to opt in!)
Vaccinated participants only.

To minimize COVID-19 risks, we will try to keep the group size small. Please bring masks just in case and remember to maintain 6' of physical separation at all times.

HCSF Covid-19 Guidelines for In-Person Events

HCSF is excited to offer a number of in-person events starting this Fall. However, there is still uncertainty on how to safely move forward in organizing and holding in-person events.  HCSF is vigilant in its planning of in-person events and respects state and federal guidelines and ordinances regarding small gatherings. HCSF events are currently for vaccinated people only and masks are required. Please note proof of vaccination is required at all in-person events. Keeping everyone’s safety in mind, we are looking forward to seeing you at one of our many upcoming events.
