Networking and Service Opportunity with BUILD.org

Support High School Entrepreneurs of Color as a VIP Judge for BUILD’s Youth Business Expo and Pitch Competition in East Oakland

BUILD.org offers an exciting opportunity to network with other Harvard Alumni interested in entrepreneurship, social justice, and youth development while supporting youth of color in East Oakland!

BUILD seeks volunteer judges for their May 20 Business Plan Competition. As a judge you will join other Harvard Alumni interacting with 9th grade students as they pitch their entrepreneurial business ideas aimed at solving an issue for a real world client. Your role is giving feedback and asking questions to boost their success. Your engagement helps increase their communication skills and expose them to real world rigor in a supportive environment.

Organization Details:
BUILD is a 501(c)(3) founded in East Palo Alto with over 20 years of experience teaching the entrepreneurial mindset and skills leading to college, career, and life success for youth of color in under-resourced communities. We now reach over 6,000 students a year in 90 cities nationally with a strong presence in the Bay Area, particularly in Oakland. BUILD envisions a world where all students - regardless of race, socioeconomic status, or neighborhood - develop the skills and connections needed to achieve social and economic mobility, becoming CEOs of their own lives.
