Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco
The Harvard Club of San Francisco is proud to collaborate with Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) as its long-standing community service partner. Experience the future of San Francisco as a volunteer tutor or mentor with BGCSF!
The mission of BGCSF is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
BGCSF believes that young people will realize their full potential when they have the access to opportunities, and where they are surrounded by an environment of respect, innovation, education and fun. Its programs and dedicated staff engage youth in positive activities with peer supports that promote self-esteem.
Our HCSF partnership with BGCSF represents a unique opportunity to perform extremely rewarding work with San Francisco's most dynamic and diverse youth community. You will become more familiar with youth perspectives while working alongside an excellent staff of truly committed adults.
While BGCSF could use volunteers in all areas (education, career development, health & fitness, the arts, technology, college prep, etc.), the greatest need is for support of the evening tutoring programs. On average, volunteer tutors are needed Monday through Friday during the windows of 3pm - 7pm.
With nine locations conveniently located within San Francisco, you can connect with the location that is right for you. For further information on getting involved, we encourage all interested members of the Harvard community to visit the BGCSF website at www.kidsclub.org/get-involved/volunteer.
For questions contact BGCSF staff member Erica Pérez, Volunteer & Corporate Outreach Manager at (415) 445-5482, email@example.com. Be sure to mention your affiliation with Harvard.
Special Annual Events: Each spring BGCSF hosts Girls & Boys Night Out, two back-to-back buddy events that connect community mentors with kids for evenings of special fun & games. Visit the BGCSF website annually in mid-February for details at www.kidsclub.org.
