Members of the Harvard Club of San Francisco are invited to join the Radcliffe Club of San Franciso for a private docent tour of the "Cult of the Machine: Precisionism and American Art" exhibit at the de Young Museum.

This large-scale survey explores connections between the past and the present and features more than 100 masterworks of American Precisionism by such modernists as Charles Sheeler, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Charles Demuth. The exhibition sheds light on the aesthetic and intellectual concerns of this important strand of early American modernism as well as the origins of its style, its relationship to photography, and how it reflected the economic and social changes wrought by industrialization and technology.

This event is a joint event of the Harvard and Radcliffe Clubs of SF. It is open to members of the clubs and their guests.

Private docent tour. Join us afterwards for coffee or lunch at the museum cafe. Afterwards, you may re-visit the exhibits on your own.
