Dan SpringerIf you’ve ever signed something electronically, there’s a good chance you’ve used DocuSign. The hyper-growth startup is based here in San Francisco and is ranked as one of the Bay Area’s best technologies companies to work for (by Glassdoor). This event will provide an opportunity to meet and hear from fellow HBS alumni, Dan Springer, as he reflects on his personal experience and achievements leading a pre-IPO tech startup.

With over 25 years of executive leadership experience in the Software-as- a- Service (SaaS) industry, Dan joined DocuSign as CEO in January 2017, and there leads more than 2,000 employees worldwide in their collective mission to help make every agreement digital.

Prior to DocuSign, Dan was the Chairman and CEO of Responsys, where he transformed the company from a private startup to the leading cross-channel marketing automation platform. He also led the company’s public listing, and its subsequent sale to Oracle for $1.6 billion in 2013. During his tenure, Springer was honored as a Bay Area Most Admired CEO and Best CEO.

Before Responsys, Dan was the MD of Modem Media, and also served as CEO at Telleo, Inc., the CMO at NextCard, and a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He started his career at DRI/McGraw-Hill and Pacific Telesis. Dan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB in Mathematics and Economics from Occidental College. And he serves (or has served) as a board member at both public and private companies, including iCIMS, Ansira, YuMe, ELOAN (Banco Popular), Heighten, Persado, and eGroups (Yahoo!), as well as at nonprofits, including YearUp, The Urban School, Shop.org, AdTech, The Randall Museum and The San Francisco Friends School.

The event is organized and will be moderated by JP Emelie Marcos, MBA 2001. JP is the co-founder and CEO of SignifAI, a startup based in Sunnyvale, CA. that integrates machine intelligence to help companies increase uptime and strengthen systems. JP’s career spans 20+ years leading teams in technology startups and large companies as an investor, GM and CEO. Prior to his business career, he served as a paratrooper officer in the French Army.
