174-view-01-hero_0East Meets West: Jewels of the Maharajas from the Al Thani Collection - SOLD OUT!

This exhibition explores the cultural and material exchanges between India and Europe through jewelry and precious objects ranging from the seventeenth century to the present. It features more than 150 pieces made in India or Europe associated with Mughal emperors, maharajas, and their courts. These objects include jewelry to be worn on ceremonial occasions, weapons such as swords and daggers, and precious works of art for display or use.

This will also be a last chance to see "Islam and the Classical Heritage", manuscripts drawn from the National Library of Israel's special collection. This will not be on our tour, but is free with museum admission.

The Radcliffe Club of San Francisco invites members of the Harvard Club of San Francisco to a private docent tour at the Legion of Honor museum.

Following the tour, you are invited to join the group for coffee/lunch at the museum cafe.

Coffee and lunch will begin at approximately 11:30. Afterwards, you may re-visit the exhibits on your own.

This event is a joint event of the Harvard and Radcliffe Clubs of SF. It is open to members of the clubs and their guests.
