Thornewood Open Space Preserve Habitat Restoration
Please join us on a community service habitat restoration project. We'll help maintain Thornewood Open Space Preserve by removing French Brooms.
Saturday, October 12, 2019
9:15am - 2:30pm
Thornewood Open Space Preserve
La Honda Rd, Woodside, CA 94062
French Brooms are invasive, non-native perennial shrubs that displace native plants, degrade soil conditions, and exacerbate wildfire dangers.
This project does not require a long or strenuous hike, but it may involve walking on steep and uneven terrain. We will be using tools and hand pulling invasive French broom. Please see https://www.firesafemarin.org/plants/fire-prone/item/french-broom for more information on this weed. After the project, those that are interested could take a short hike to explore Thornewood Park.
WHERE TO MEET
Meet at the parking area near the park gate on La Honda Rd/84 at 9:15 am.
Please note parking is limited. Carpooling is highly encouraged. You can find/offer rides using this link: https://www.groupcarpool.com/t/orx8w3
