Headlands Center for the Arts is a multidisciplinary, international arts center dedicated to supporting artists, the creative process, and the development of new, innovative ideas and artwork. Headlands campus comprises a cluster of artist-rehabilitated military buildings, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge at historic Fort Barry in the Marin Headlands.

Join us for a day of art in the Park!
Begin with a 30-minute tour and introduction to Headlands’ main building, Building 944. The tour covers the history and mission of Headlands, and the stories behind all of the artist-renovated rooms. Following the tour, head next door to the studio building for a behind the scenes look into two artists’ work and creative process. One hour of studio visits with two current Headlands Artists in Residence (AIR) includes an overview of the artist’s work and provides time for questions and answers. End the morning in the Mess Hall with a seasonal, organic family-style lunch prepared by Katie Powers Catering.

There is no cell service nor Internet access in the Marin Headlands. Please come prepared to spend a couple hours off the grid!

If you are interested in ride-sharing to and from the Headlands from San Francisco or the East Bay, please contact the event coordinator, elaina_lin@post.harvard.edu.
