NY Police Commissioner Ray Kelly: Vigilance

Special Invitation from the Dartmouth Club of Silicon Valley to HCSF members. Cost: $55 (Includes premium ticket, VIP reception, hors d'oeuvres, and beer/wine/soft drinks.)

Dartmouth Silicon Valley, in concert with Arts & Ideas at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, invites alumni and their guests to a special VIP evening with Commissioner Ray Kelly.

Former New York City police commissioner Ray Kelly opens up for the first time about his life fighting crime and the dozens of plots foiled by his anti-terrorist teams after 9/11. After serving as a Marine in Vietnam, Kelly, the son of a milkman, soared through the NYPD ranks in decades marked by riots, drugs and a staggering murder rate. He earned a reputation as a fixer who could clean up troubled precincts, catapulting him to his first stint as commissioner, where he oversaw the police response to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. After positions at Interpol, the Treasury Department and U.S. Customs, he returned to the NYPD in the wake of 9/11, transforming it into a counter-terrorism force to surpass the FBI and the Pentagon.

In addition to Mr Kelly’s discussion, alumni and guests will meet in the “Green Room” for a private, Dartmouth VIP reception before the show.
