2024 HBS New Venture Competition (NVC) Information and Networking Night Join our Bay Area entrepreneurial community for an evening of networking. We will begin with information on our upcoming regional NVC, which is open to all HBS and Harvard early stage startups. Meet a panel of previous NVC participants and winners, and learn about their experiences and how you can apply for the NVC. We will end the evening with a guest speaker and an exciting night of networking.

About the Speakers:

Brent Blackaby, Co-Founder of Confidently and 2020 NVC Participant
Confidently has built an employee data privacy solution that helps organizations reduce the threat of phishing and social engineering attacks, which are responsible for nearly 80% of data breaches. Confidently deletes employee PII from companies that shouldn't have it, reducing the attack surface for the enterprise while enhancing individual privacy. We also provide companies with new threat intelligence, based on signals received from employees' personal data exposure, that identifies potential security threats in advance. Confidently was a finalist in the 2020 NVC.
 
Ann Kletz, Founder of Goal Five and 2020 NVC Winner

Ann Kletz brings 25 years of start-up and management expertise to help mission-driven companies and organizations assemble great teams, launch, scale and succeed. Her extensive background also includes fundraising, strategy consulting, social entrepreneur, meeting facilitation, project director for large-scale initiatives and events, executive and leadership coaching, and corporate philanthropy. Kletz played four years of Division I soccer for Harvard University, and she is an inaugural recipient of the Washington D.C. based Fund for Social Entrepreneurs. Her startup, Goal Five, which is focused on performance gear for women, was the winner of the 2020 NVC.
 
Nayoung Susie Kimnn, CEO and Co-founder of Hivefive Vet

Nayoung Susie Kim (HBS 2014) is a CEO & co-founder of Highfive Vet, an AI-powered purchasing automation platform for veterinary clinics. Highfive Vet saves clinics avg. 300 hours per year by automating manual purchasing tasks, from a predictive cart to automated budget optimizations. She is passionate about access to veterinary care and providing innovative solutions to achieve it.
 

About the Moderators:
Vince Lane, HBSANC Board Member and Chair of Entrepreneurship, HBS OPM 37
Vince is an experienced investor and entrepreneur with many years of cross border experience in founding and investing in multiple companies, strategic planning, venture capital, technology, digital entertainment and investment management. His current focus is on new frontier technologies including Artificial intelligence(AI), Web3 and gaming. Mr. Lane is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Mav3rick Ventures and sits on numerous advisory boards. For HBSNAC he is on the board and is Chair of Entrepreneurship that includes Start Up Partners.
 
Maya Krish, HBSANC Executive Director, Harvard MS 1993
Maya is the Executive Director of HBSANC and previously served as the Director of Programs and Entrepreneurship. She has chaired the New Venture Competition for four years, creating mentoring, networking, and career fulfilling opportunities for budding entrepreneurs across Northern California. Maya has run her own ventures in both the wellness and financial sectors and served as a healthcare executive and consultant for over 10 years. She has a MS in Healthcare Management from Harvard and bachelors degrees in Moleculary Biology and Economics from the University of CA Berkeley.
