Discover How BUILD.org is Inspiring A New Generation of Changemakers & Leaders through Entrepreneurship Education
Learn how BUILD.org has reached over 55K students across the nation with our in-person entrepreneurship programming and digital offerings, and how volunteers are supporting this impactful experience.
Join us for an evening of networking, and learn how BUILD prepares students for college and career readiness through the entrepreneurial mindset. You'll find out how volunteers play a key role in student success and you'll get a chance to hear from them.
Started in the Bay Area in 1999, BUILD is a national education nonprofit. It uses entrepreneurship and experiential learning to empower students facing barriers such as economic disparities. The program’s impact on students can be seen through our outcomes: 96% of teachers agreed that students are more prepared for college and careers, and 83% of BUILD students who apply to college are accepted to a 4-year university (2023).
In the Bay Area, BUILD partners with schools in Oakland and Redwood City where our volunteers support students in person. Volunteers not only support students as they create innovative businesses, but also help them to develop life skills and build social capital.
At this event, you will get to hear about two volunteer opportunities that help make the program a success: Business Team Coaches and Event Volunteers. Coaches support student teams in the classroom as they build their businesses, 1-2 times per month. One-off Event Volunteers serve in roles such as Idea Pitch Judge and Mock Investor, and can sign-up for for one or more of them.
There will be a Q & A at the end; Refreshments and light snacks will be available
