Film Screening of ‘CLIFFE NOTES: Stories from the Radcliffe Class of 1975’
A special screening drawn from over 100 oral history interviews of the Radcliffe Class of 1975, followed by Q&A and light refreshments
Join us for a special screening of this acclaimed documentary, drawn from Zoom interviews with over 100 members of the Radcliffe Class of ’75 and directed by Pamela Hogan, ’77, in conjunction with the leaders of the Radcliffe ’75 Oral History Project.
The Radcliffe Class of ’75 attended Harvard at a pivotal moment. The last class to be admitted under the old 4 to 1 gender ratio, these women arrived on campus at a time when the feminist movement advocated for women’s rights, but the university offered scant support for women. The film candidly portrays campus life in the early 1970s, including the challenges of making the Harvard houses fully coed and giving women full access to extracurricular and athletic activities.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with class members who appear in the film, and then time to mix and mingle, with light refreshments. The film is not available outside of private screenings, so this is a rare opportunity to view it!
