AI in Healthcare
This event will be jointly hosted by The MIT Club of Northern California and the Harvard Club of San Francisco.
Join us for an inspiring and forward-looking fireside chat exploring how AI is reshaping the way people access, understand, and act on health information. We’ll be joined by Max Marchione, Founder of Superpower.com, a digital clinic focused on proactive, personalized care and longevity; Dr. Michael Turken, a practicing internist and Founder of My Doctor Friend, an AI health copilot designed to bridge clinical expertise with modern digital health experiences; and Robin Guo, a biotech startup founder who was previously on the founding team of a16z speedrun. Together, they’ll unpack what’s real vs. hype in AI health, where consumer experiences are headed, and what it will take to build trusted, patient-centered AI products that actually improve outcomes.
What to Expect
- Real vs. Hype in AI Health: What’s working today (and what isn’t) in AI-driven healthcare products, from consumer apps to AI-enabled clinical workflows.
- From Data to Action: How biomarker testing, diagnostics, and AI interpretation can move beyond dashboards and into meaningful, personalized decisions.
- Clinical Reality Check: A physician’s perspective on what patients actually need, where AI can help, and where trust and safety must come first.
- Designing for Trust: How to build products that users (and clinicians) rely on—privacy, incentives, outcomes, and responsible deployment.
- The Next Frontier: What’s coming next in consumer health, biotech, and AI—and how founders and builders can position themselves at the leading edge.
- Live Q&A: Bring your questions and get candid takes from the experts.
Whether you're a product builder, designer, technologist, founder, or simply passionate about the future of health and wellness, this discussion could provide actionable insights and fresh perspectives from one of the field’s leading innovators.

Max Marchione is the co-founder of Superpower, a health-tech company redefining the intersection of longevity, consumer wellness and data-driven care. After a prolonged personal struggle with chronic health issues and a deep dive into early wearable and biomarker technology, he identified a gap between elite, personalized care and what the general population receives. This insight became the mission of Superpower, which raised $30 million in Series A funding in 2025. Today, Max leads Superpower’s push to democratize high-end health capabilities via AI, diagnostics and membership-based care, while also investing in early-stage ventures through his firms and exploring human performance, systems thinking, and building A+ teams.
Dr. Michael Turken is an internist and founder of My Doctor Friend — a platform that blends clinical medicine with modern digital-health tools to offer accessible, personalized care for patients and families. He graduated from University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine in 2013 and has over a decade of experience practicing internal medicine, serving patients in the San Francisco Bay Area and affiliated with UCSF Medical Center. Through My Doctor Friend, Dr. Turken aims to combine the rigor of traditional care with the convenience and personalization of digital health — helping to bridge the gap between medical expertise and everyday wellness for individuals and families.
Robin Guo is the founder of a stealth startup working in the metabolic health space. He was previously on the founding team of a16z speedrun, having built the program from the ground up. His investment areas there focused on consumer, healthcare, AI, and games. Before that, he worked in the biotech industry and studied Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University.
