“The Science of Thriving: Lifestyle Medicine, Vitality, and Dignity”
Presented by Dr. Raj Kalra & Juliet Holt Klinger

Is it possible to build a resilient mind? How can one shift the focus on aging from simply managing decline to actively cultivating vitality.?

Our presenters will unpack the “5 Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine”—diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, and social connection—as the essential foundation for brain health. By blending clinical science with a “dignity-first” philosophy, we will discuss how intentional daily habits and our physical environments can be designed to support cognitive resilience, purpose, and comfort at every stage of the journey.

Dr. Raj Kalra, MD is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Management, Obesity Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine. For 15 years he served as chief of pain medicine for the largest medical group in the United States, earning multiple awards and recognition as a pioneer in his field.

As the youngest son of aging parents, Dr. Kalra personally experienced the challenges families face when seeking quality care options. His experience led him to create a new community, Aroha Memory Care, in Santa Rosa.

Juliet Holt Klinger is a gerontologist specializing in dementia care with nearly 40 years of experience working directly with people living with dementia and their families. She has held executive leadership roles at the largest dementia care companies and is recognized for developing innovative, person-centered programs that harness emerging technologies to serve older adults with neurocognitive challenges.
