Harvard/Stanford Hike
Saratoga Sanborn County Park to Skyline - hard 6.2 miles, 1,850 feet climb
ROUTE: This is a fairly strenuous hike for the first half, to the top of Skyline. Then we'll head down taking a different route. For reference see this AllTrails 9-mile route rated Hard. We'll turn around at Skyline but you're welcome to continue for the 9 miles, on your own.
BRING SNACKS AND WATER. We'll make short stops to keep the group together and a more extended water and snack break about half-way through the route.
DOGS are allowed but must be on leash.
THE PARK: Sanborn County Park is a lushly wooded 3,453-acre park nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains between Saratoga and Skyline Boulevard. This mountain park of redwoods and tanbark oaks offers hiking, hike-in camping, RV camping, and picnicking opportunities year-round.
MEETING LOCATION & PARKING We'll meet at the large parking lot. Parking is $6. Bring the exact cash amount.
APRÉS HIKE: We'll propose an optional coffee/lunch spot after the hike.
