Please join us for HCSV’s fourth annual winter volunteer series with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula! We will support BGCP eighth graders in preparing for the Eighth Grade Youth of the Year scholarship competition.
RSVP separately for each session you plan to attend.
- Volunteers are welcome to sign up for all sessions or just one or two.
- Those who attend multiple sessions will have the opportunity to work with the same youth each time.
- Each session will focus on a different part of the Youth of the Year process.
- Volunteers do not need to have expertise in writing, editing, speech-giving, or interviewing. BGCP staff will provide guidance for how to support the youth at each session.
Session 2: Friday, Nov. 22 (4:30 p.m .to 7 p.m.): Each volunteer will work with one or two 8th graders on outlining a speech to be given in front of 100 to 200 people at BGCP’s upcoming Eighth Grade Youth of the Year scholarship competition.
