Classic Fiction Book Club: Madame Bovary

San Francisco (location will be sent a few days before the meeting to those who RSVP)
Free but RSVP required
Registration required by 10/19/10

Madame Bovary was Gustave Flaubert's first published novel and widely considered his masterpiece. This 1857 novel about an adulterous woman was attacked for obscenity when it was first serialized. We invite you to read and join us for our next meeting on October 24. In previous meetings, we've discussed Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad, Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie, and The Trial by Franz Kafka. Come with suggestions for books you'd like to read. E-mail Yvonne Tsang at ytsang@post.harvard.edu with any questions.
