Early College Awareness Program
Looking for a community service opportunity this Spring? Consider the Harvard Club of SF's Early College Awareness Program (ECAP)!
ECAP is a half-day informational workshop for San Francisco middle school students who could be the first in their families to attend college. Through presentations and interactive sessions, we hope to inspire students to attend college, to help them and their parents plan their time in high school with college in mind, and to introduce them to local organizations that can help them along the way.
If you are interested in helping plan, or volunteering on the day of the event, please join the ECAP team for an informal kick-off meeting on Tuesday, October 28, at 6:30pm at AllianceBernstein (555 California Street, 43rd Floor). Please bring ID for the security desk. If you cannot join on Tuesday, please contact us at (firstname.lastname@example.org), and we'll be in touch about volunteer opportunities.
We need volunteers to:
- Help on the day of the workshop
- Plan logistics
- Design resource guides
- Manage communications (PR, website, event materials, etc.)
- Work with local schools to invite students
- Recruit partner organizations
- Plan the curriculum
- Translate into Spanish, Tagalog and Chinese

This year marks the 10th anniversary of ECAPSF! The program is one of HCSF's signature events and has been a staple Harvard alumni community service initiative since the early 1990's. Please read more about the program's beginnings at ECAP History.
